I was waiting on this post to put pictures up, but blogger hate me right now, or my slow connection, so no pictures. And if your wondering why I'm posting this at 4:30 in the morning, I'd love to know to. I can't sleep because I'm sick and so I figured instead of keeping Dan up I might as well get up and do something. Something productive? No, I'm looking at blogs...but I'm not wearing my glasses and can't see a thing...sigh.
Two Mondays ago was Kember's first day of school, and boy was she excited. No tears, no "mom stay with me", no nothing. I will admit to missing her and even wondering if she was okay. Dan kept looking at me funny and telling me she was fine (he gets weirded out when any type of "Mother Tenderness" shows up because it just isn't common). She did really well, and I wish I could tell you what she did, but I have no idea because if you ask her she just says that she "played with my friends". Well, at least she's making friends. What are their names? Who knows...I don't think Kember does. Wouldn't it be great if we were all like that? Not picky at all, just play with anyone.
The next day she rode the bus for the first time. I was really worried about this and not sure how she would do, but she charged right on even before the other kids got off (she's in the afternoon session). Dan had to physically remove her and tell her to wait her turn. Again, no "mom come with me", no tears, no hesitation. She just hopped right on and asked the bus attendant where her seat was. It's really cute, they have booster seat thingys and five point harnesses.
She gets really tired since school is during when she used to nap, but I think this is going to work out really well for our family. Here are some pictures of her first two days.

Labor Day
Unfortunately "Labor Day" does not refer to me having this little man...sigh...I still have months left. However, on the bright side, I'm not really ready for him to come right now anyway! I'm done being pregnant, but not so ready for the third. Yes, that was all random, and has nothing to do with this post, but I'm sure it adds a bit of flavor.
Not only do I have goofy kids (cute...but goofy...not to mention clumsy, but that's another post) but I have a goofy husband as well (cute, but goofy).Did I mention that Dan put all this together? He got everyone moving (a difficult task in my house), got the kids dressed, made the sandwiches, and loaded everyone up in the car. Yeah, he's great, I know.
Dan has two weeks off rotations, but it starts tomorrow. It was supposed to start today, but with the holiday they don't change anything. It worked out well though, we were still able to have family time today. I have no idea what time Dan had to leave this morning to do whatever he has to do at the Vet school...I'm not even sure when Kember got up. I got out of bed at 8:18 and it was marvelous. No, I wasn't sleeping till then. Sleep is kind of hard when a 3 year old is constantly talking or jumping on you. But, I persisted until the above mentioned time. Dan came home not too long after that and we all got ready for our picnic. For some reason Kember thought we were having a party. Sure, why not call it that? We decided to go out to Kamiack (spelled wrong, but what can you do?) Butte and do a little hike and then eat. It was a lot of fun, and very pretty. The weather was great (if you like Fall weather, and that's Dan's favorite), and we got some good pictures, so here they are for your viewing enjoyment.
The stick that Caden is holding was not relinquished easily. In fact he had it the whole hike. The only time he gave it up was when we started to eat. For some reason he reminds me of his dad...:) Not only do I have goofy kids (cute...but goofy...not to mention clumsy, but that's another post) but I have a goofy husband as well (cute, but goofy).Did I mention that Dan put all this together?
