Happy Birthday to me!

Okay, so my birthday was a while ago...but I didn't get this posted, and since I apparently like to toot my own horn, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! 27.....I don't feel like I'm 27. Most of the younger couples in our ward I imagine all to be around my age...I was shocked to find out they were only 23 or 24. They seemed so much more mature than I am. Maybe if I start dressing more fashionably I'll feel older :) Or maybe not! Maybe some day I'll just have to grown up. But 27 just seems sooo old. 26 isn't old, but 27 means I'm just not young anymore. I mean considering I've been married for almost 7 years and have 3 kids, I realize that I'm not young anymore...but 27. Well, here's to a good year anyway.
My sisters birthday is the day before mine, and she lives close enough that we can get together more easily than the rest of the family, so on her birthday we met her and her husband in Mesquite to go out to dinner. We were going to go to a movie too, but we misjudged the time difference and didn't think our babysitter would appreciate us not coming home till eleven on a school night (or her parents wouldn't appreciate it anyway). So we went to Samurai 21. The food wasn't the greatest, but the people and the food prep were great! It's one of those places where they cook it in front of you with lots of fire and throwing things :) It was lots of fun. On my birthday one of my friends bought me lunch and we had a picnic outside on my front lawn. It was really sweet and I really appreciated it. Dan made a cute poster for me and of course he made dinner (I'm not cooking on my birthday). He got me a Kindle too, and I'm so excited about it. So excited. The only trouble is we both want to use it, and well, it's definitely not a two person toy. But it will be really great for our cruise, and so far it's been fun to read stuff on it. We didn't take any pictures at anytime (I brought my camera everywhere, but never actually took any pictures) so, it's a pictureless post, but there you have it. Aren't birthday's fun?

You are not old. But, I totally understand how you were feeling when you found out that those other couples were only 23 or 24. That happened to me when I was visiting teaching in Cedar. We all sort of seemed the same age, and then I found out they were your age, and I felt so old. ;)

PS-notice all these comments I'm leaving. I sure do like comments-hint, hint.

I remember that moment of, wow I'm old. It was a couple of years ago when I got my van. I kept thinking, I'm a mom of two girls and I have a mini van. It didn't help I was working at a place where all the people on my shift were high school students either. They barely remember tapes let alone know what a record is.

I don't think you're old at all. I might be old...but you're not. Because if you hit "old" now...what happens in five-ten-thirty years? Wait to be old until...I don't know...like 80. Happy birthday: you deserve it!

Hey, if 27 is old, then what am I?
Seriously, you didn't think the food at Samurai was that great? That's sad. Nate says it's because you ordered the chicken. You should have ordered the steak. (According to him...)
