So far, so good

Doesn't this just make your heart melt? Today Dan left for his six week stint in Idaho and I took the kids out to say goodbye. I was glad I had my camera cause these are just too cute.
I made it through day one at least. Yea for me! For FHE we did a thankful turkey. I stole the idea from Miquelle. The kids didn't quite grasp the thankful concept, but they told me what they were thankful for and they got excited to put on feathers.
They liked that I hung it up on their door too!

We spent the rest of FHE singing songs. Kember and Caden would take turns making up songs aobut squirrels and bears and all sorts of stuff. Then I would say a primary song and we'd sing that. It was great fun.

You are too clever and those cute kids make it all worth it. Way to survive the day. Just keep moving forward, one day at a time.

Tarah! You are a good, good mom. Those pictures are bitter sweet with dan and the kids, yes it makes our hearts melt. I love the FHE idea which means I will be stealing it as well. If you need to ship any of the kids down to us just make sure you poke holes in the box. :) but really, if anyone can do this, its you! We love reading the blog!

Is Cole screaming, or is his mouth just open? Glad you made it through. Sorry I didn't call you back--sort of crazy day. I'll try to call tomorrow.

Awww...such sweet photos! You are one BRAVE BRAVE woman!! I'm over here complaining about being left behind for 3 weeks PLUS having my MIL here to watch the kids...what I wuss I am! lol

So, when Russ is gone for long periods of time I find that striving to take one photo that documenting what you did that day helps me get through the day. It keeps me concentrating on what I could take a photo of, plus it will give Dan something to look forward to if you post it each night (or every couple of days, lol). Something like a photo of the kids playing, eating dinner, taking a bath, whatever! It's what helps me keep my sanity, lol.

Oh, I'm sorry that the 6-week stint has started. How not fun for you. :( But it sounds like you made the best of the first day. Anytime you need someone to talk to, I'm here! (Assuming I hear the phone/can find the phone...)

Oh, good luck! I can't imagine being a single mom for six weeks. Not fun! The pictures of your kids are adorable, though. I'm sure you'll make it through.
